Marci’s laughter had pretty much subsided by the time they arrived at the cabana house. She was sure Brogue would find some new reason to strengthen his argument against taking their relationship to the place they both wanted it to go.

He’d voiced no such reasons while his steps ventured closer to the cabana. Along the way, he tugged Marci from his shoulder. He carried her the rest of the way in his arms-one behind her back, the other beneath her knees.

Marci pushed her face into his neck and delighted in the feel of being so effortlessly supported. The journey wasn’t an excessively simple one. The route was full of steep hills and valleys, all of which Brogue covered easily despite the burden he transported from the shore.

He bypassed the double front doors of the house, opting for the side entrance. The place was another example of the airy indoor/outdoor style prevalent in the architecture of the state. The structure offered access into the bedroom suite via a retractable glass wall. A single bump from his elbow had the wall sliding which allowed Brogue to bring Marci inside without ever having to abandon his hold on her.

He dropped her to the bed so that she bounced once atop the semi-firm mattress beneath a finely made charcoal brown comforter. Marci had only the space of a second to pamper her fingertips in the cashmere before Brogue joined her, guiding her to her back without a word or touch.

His jolting stare probed hers then. “Will you hit me if I ask if you’re sure?”

“I’ll seriously consider it.”

“Good enough,” he was crushing her mouth beneath his then.

His velvet lips bathed her skin while the rest of her was bathed in suede. Sheer decadence enveloped her like a cloud. Marci lost all concept of time and space there.

Brogue’s reaction wasn’t quite so serene. He felt starved for the taste of her-all of her. Her mouth was a sweet, tempting treat that he wanted to sample to no end. Its sweetness however, drove him half out of his mind with wanting to sample more of her. He withdrew from their kiss, ignoring Marci’s disappointed whimpers as he searched for new spots to explore.

Impatience surged for Brogue when his lips grazed her clavicle and he encountered the strap of her suit. He stopped short-barely- of ripping her out of the sheer fabric. Somehow, he practiced enough control to merely peel it away.

In the midst of peeling, he explored every inch of skin bared to his eyes. Fleeting, wet kisses doused her collarbone and the dip at her throat. His tongue feathered across the spot until Marci writhed out of unmet need. Brogue lingered there for only a moment and then those feathery kisses were skimming her cleavage where it strained against her suit.

Brogue tugged her arm free of one strap, freeing one heaving breast as a result. His nose outlined the plump mound-the rotations taking him inexorably closer to the peak that stood firm and waiting to be tended.
